HOW TO PROCEED

Wash your Catalyst waterproof case with soap and water. Dry off using a lint-free cloth.

Disinfect using a solution, gel or wipe that contains 70% ethanol or 70% isopropyl alcohol. Let it sit for at least 1 minute (follow the disinfectant's instructions).

Dry off the remaining solution with a lint-free cloth.

How can you wash your Apple Device with a Catalyst Waterproof Case?

If you are using and maintaining your Catalyst waterproof case on your iPhone or iPad, you’ll be able to wash it with water and soap just as easily as you wash your hands. Just follow these simple steps:

    1. Clean your device: Before installing the waterproof case, clean your Apple device following Apple's guidelines. Make sure to avoid excessive wiping, don't submerge your Apple product in any cleaning agents and don't get moisture into any openings. This will also remove fingerprints and dirt that may be on your device.

    2. Clean your case:
      1. Install the Catalyst waterproof case to your Apple device by following the instructions.
      2. Ensure all seals and plugs are tightly secured before rinsing under running water
      3. Apply soap and wash thoroughly using your hands
      4. Rinse again
      5. Dry off using a soft non-abrasive cloth

Is it OK to use a disinfectant or soap on my Catalyst waterproof case? 

You will not damage the Catalyst iPhone Waterproof Case by washing your phone case with soap and water or disinfecting it for COVID-19 with an alcohol solution that contains at least 70% alcohol, such as 70% ethanol or 70% isopropyl alcohol. Using a 70% alcohol wipe, solution, gel or spray, you may gently wipe the surfaces of your Catalyst case with a clean lint-free microfibre cloth. Ensure all seals and plugs are tightly secured.

Apple devices such as the iPhone are water-resistant, why can’t I just wash my iPhone with soap?

When advising on how to clean iPhones, Apple warns against getting “...moisture into any openings”, “Don’t use cleaning products”.

Indeed, if we look at the Technical Specifications of the iPhone 11, it clearly states that ”iPhone 11 is splash, water, and dust resistant and was tested under controlled laboratory conditions with a rating of IP68 under IEC standard 60529 (maximum depth of 2 meters up to 30 minutes). Splash, water, and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear. Do not attempt to charge a wet iPhone; refer to the user guide for cleaning and drying instructions. Liquid damage not covered under warranty.”

Can’t I just get a UV smartphone sanitizer?
